PRESIDENT’S REPORT

The ATPCA Spring meeting will be held on Saturday March, 16, 2013 in Cottondale, AL at Steve Phillip’s house (11178 Staghorne Drive Cottondale, AL 35453, 205-556-3953). Stop by anytime after 9:00am and talk trapping. Lunch will be served at noon. Please bring a dish to pass. The ATPCA will be providing the meat and drinks. The business meeting will be at 1 p.m. NAFA fur pick-up will also be available. If you plan on shipping fur to NAFA, please plan you arrival so that you can conclude your transfer by 11:45 a.m. The NAFA representative will not be accepting shipments from noon until after the business meeting. He would like to enjoy lunch and attend the meeting with his fellow ATPCA members. Thank you for your cooperation on this matter. Signs will be posted. Current ATPCA members will be receiving a mailing on the event at the end of February.

Mark your calendar, the date for the ATPCA 2013 Fall Rendezvous is Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Fosters, AL.

JUST A REMINDER: Alabama Regulation 220-2-.32 requires that each trapper report their harvest by number and species to the Alabama DCNR within 45 days after the end of the season. You can obtain a copy of the form at www.outdooralabama.com. The data collected from these reports is vital information needed to monitor the fur bearing population in Alabama. Send your completed form to the address indicated on the form.

In closing, I would like to inform the membership that I have been nominated for the position of General Organizer an elected office of the National Trappers Association. The position of President and General Organizer are up for election this year. Since both positions are a contested (two nominees for each position), current NTA members in good standing (dues paid) will receive a ballot via US Mail. I ask for your support. Please follow the instructions printed on your ballot to return your completed ballot. — Charlie Rath
