PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Hello Trappers,

What an amazing fur sale we had in Globe! I will not steal Mike Huffer’s thunder with the averages and highs. But if a $1,300 high cat won’t get you out trapping I don’t know what would. The success of this year’s sale brought in much needed revenue to fight for our trapping rights here in AZ and if needed nationwide.

Thank you to all the ATA members who brought fur, the buyers who made the sale a real competition, ATA directors, Mike, Terri, and Cindy for making the sale such a huge success.

Overall the fur put-up for the cats was much better than in years past. It was really great to see the pride that was taken in the put-up and it showed in the averages. If your fur put-up still needs a little help contact myself or one of the directors and we will do our best to get you lined out.

As the season draws to an end please do not forget to mail in your trapping report to Ron Day at the AZGFD. Failing to submit your report could restrict you from getting next seasons trapping license. We may have some changes to the trapping season dates and regulations coming down the pipe. As an association we will do our best to keep you informed.

The summer convention will be upon us in no time. If you have any ideas, suggestions, or would like to help please let your country director know. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Elections will again be held during the convention. I encourage anyone interested to step-up and take a position.

Live free, live strong! — Scott Trowbridge

FUR MANAGER’S REPORT

Trappers,

Prices for bobcats were good this year. We had 870 bobcats that sold in the auction, the high was $1300 with an average of $420, 713 grey foxes sold and the high was $37 with an average of $30, 413 coyotes sold and $45 was the high with an average of $23.

Thank you sellers coming to the auction. Thanks for everybody calling in your fur numbers and bring your furs in early. This auction was one of our biggest in years and calling in with fur counts and bring your fur early helped a great deal!

Everybody that helped set up and run the auction, Thank You! — Mike
