PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Hello Trappers,

I have been on the go and on the go. Some times I don’t think I am getting any where. The trapping season is well under way and in many places the fur is stacking up what I an told. The prices look good and with gas coming down a little I may make a few dollars this year. I think what a lot of us can do to help trapping is getting a place to put the skinned critter. Out of sight out of mind. I trap and call on a lot of private land and public land. I have a only a few places I skin and well leave the critter on the ground. I have in this one place where Bald eagles and Golden eagles come in and feed. These critters have not been shot so there is no lead. The other place they get lots of dirt over them. I don’t tell any one where the skinning places are. If the weather holds up us trappers will get to cover a lot on ground for a good season. The more fur for us and the more food for the ones that don’t get caught. Better new crop for next season. Think about it. Plain common sense, keeping a healthy crop of new fur coming on. Hope to have more for you next month. — John Clark
