SECRETARY/TREASURER’S REPORT

The Oct 21, 2012 meeting of the Cortland County Trapper’s Association was called to order by Pres Howe at 5:10pm.

The 50/50 was won by Butch and the trap donated by Bill Howe was won by John Hahn.

The club has voted to forgo the annual dinner for this year. The discussion turned to the Rendezvous. The crowd seemed to be a little smaller but the day was success. We thank all the helpers and especially the vendors. We hope that they had a successful day also. It was suggested that maybe next year we have some kind of shooting event to attract more people. Think about it.

Bill reported on the Solon Clubs recovery act. They seem to be on track. That’s good news.

Treasurer’s report was accepted as read. Art gave the Club an annual report from Oct, 2011 to Oct, 2012. Club is in great shape for the shape it’s in. Report has been submitted to NYSTA as required.

Round table: Dale Beckwith has NYSTA calendars available for $20.00 apiece.

Les Wedge reported on the NYSTA BoD meeting. Trapper training courses discussed. Instructors thanked for their dedication and time spent. NYSTA will be updating their web site soon. Bill Howe noted that there seemed to be too many no shows at trapping courses lately.

Butch “Lucky” Jenks reported that he won a shotgun from the NYSTA raffle and lo and behold Mr. Howe won a Mathews compound bow from the same raffle. Nice going guys.

Russ Bossard reported on the state of Nebraska’s Muskrats. Russ will bring part of his successful Elk hunt next month dressed up like a stew. Can’t wait.

Mark Laue will do a demo in Nov.

Dale Beckwith has a demo on his raccoon trap modification. Always fascinates Art, thanks Dale.

Shirley Howe is heating up the pizza, very good idea.

Motion to adjourn carried at 7:00pm.

Respectfully submitted. — Art Manz
