SECRETARY’S REPORT
On June 8 the GTA Directors held a meeting at Mike Gibson’s farm for the purpose of planning the annual convention.
This year’s convention will be 32nd annual convention! Dan Eaton is hosting the convention and it will be held near Augusta at the Columbia County Fairgrounds. This is an excellent site, as we held a convention there several years ago and it was very well attended.
The convention dates are September13 – 15. The motels are located at I-20 & Belair Road. For further information contact Dan at (706) 399-2561.
Make your plans to attend!
Well we can’t complain about the lack of rain this year! Here in Albany, June was the fourth wettest on record. The rivers and creeks haven’t had a chance to settle down all spring and summer which is putting a crimp in the fishing, but we need the water so bad it’s hard to complain.
When it finally started raining, that put the beavers on the move and they were about as common dead on the road as possums and armadillos!
Hope to see everyone at the convention. — Steve Rainey
