PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Once again, it’s time to supply something for you as members to read in our column.

Dates to remember: Sept.10-11-12 Young Trappers Camp at Lotus point Camp at Lake Carlyle. We are seeking to have 25 kids at the camp. I hope you are one of the lucky 25.

Oct. 1-2-3 Macoupin County Fairgrounds Location for the annual Illinois Trappers Association convention. For booth space or info, call Mike Gragert at 618-637-9061.

2011 Fur auctions will again be on the second and fourth Saturdays in January. The northern auction will again be in Odell on Jan. 8, 2011, and in Fairfield on Jan. 22 I hope to see many of you at one or both.

At our last Board meeting in Carlinville on July 17, I indicated to the Board that this would be my last term as President. I do not intend to remain in this office without some of our younger people making plans to step up to take the reins. I have been in this office for the last 11 years and feel its time for someone else to assume the role of driver of the bus. I plan to stay active on the board, but to the point of offering advice if it’s asked for. I will be writing something from time to time, but through the years, asking for material for articles seems to have fallen on deaf ears, so the next President will have the privilege of keeping you all informed. I plan to see most of you through the year at the events the ITA hosts.

It’s been a pleasure to serve you all to the best of my ability.

— Paul Kelley
