VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Hello to all fellow members and fur harvesters friends. Where does time go? Summer is here and HOT, HOT, HOT. It won’t be long and I will be on the road again to set up a booth at Youth Fairs, Fur harvesters Education Class and then the Fall Rendezvous. A busy fall is fast approaching, but a very enjoyable time we have. Am looking forward to the trip to Yates Center for the rendezvous on Oct. 1-3 to meet up again with the many friends and fur harvesting family that we have gotten acquainted with over the many past years. What a great group, and bring a friend to let them get acquainted with the rest of the world.

As of this writing, cannot give a good report about the bodygrip trap on public ground, just have to hope for the best on this issue. We all need to stand behind the employees and Wildlife and Parks commissioners on the decision. They know what will happen if the fur harvesters do not help control some furbearer populations.

Until next time, have a safe summer, take a youth out with you on a fishing trip, camping or just an outdoor excursion and educate them on nature. Someday it may be their turn to do the same for a youth.

DISTRICT 5 REPORT

Attendance: 8

May 2, 2009

Meeting called to order 6:45 p.m. Minutes from last meeting not available. Ed Fink highlighted from memory. No change in Treasury, but will be purchasing pistol this week.

WR Brecheisen spoke about dog caught in trap on public land in Salina. Had some discussion. Looking for volunteers for demos at rendezvous. When we go to rendevous, buy tickets for Bear Traps. KFHA has bought a 50th Ann. Trap from NTA explain membership. WR asked for any suggestions of Rendezvous. Hard to keep people interested in meetings. WR brought up an FBU Banquet and what we thought. Do we feel this would be profitable or if anyone would be interested in helping or what we should do about it? Next meeting on 11th of July at Whiting city park. Ed wants Mark to purchase something for rendezvous to be raffled off. As always, will donate 10-20 tickets to gun.

Motion to close meeting at 7:16 p.m. by Bob Lee seconded.
