Minnesota Lawsuit Will Not Delay Wolf Season

Minnesota will have a wolf hunting and trapping season in 2012.

The Minnesota Court of Appeals has struck down a lawsuit attempting to stop the opening of the inaugural season. It will begin Nov. 3.

The court found that the anti-hunting groups that filed the lawsuit “failed to show that letting the season proceed would cause irreparable harm,” according to the Pioneer Press. The Center for Biological Diversity and Howling for Wolves filed the lawsuit last month, claiming that the Department of Natural Resources did not allow for adequate public comment before it adopted regulations for the upcoming wolf season.
