REPORT

The New Hampshire Trappers Association is busy planning the annual trapper’s meet scheduled for the third weekend in September. My calendar says that weekend is Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th. Doors always open at 7 am each morning. There are dry camping sites available (there is a port-a-toilet) for those who would like to RV or tent. The gate at the facility will open the afternoon of Friday the 14th for arriving campers and vendors. The event will be held again this year at the Owl Brook Hunter/Trapper Education facility in Holderness, NH.

Those of us that have gun raffle tickets need to remember to bring the stubs of the sold tickets and any unsold tickets. Tickets will be for sale up until the time of the drawing, so we need those unsold ones available for sale. The drawing is typically held on Sunday following the member’s meeting. Rockingham County Director Steve Schlangen has tickets, he can be reached at: 603-895-0686.

The association is always interested in new and interesting trapping-related demonstrations to include in the fall event. If you would like to volunteer to put on a demonstration this year please contact President Larry Torr at 603-742-7554 or fall meet committee chair Roger Burnham at 603-744-3561.

If you are interested in entering a desert in the desert contest, we have two categories: pie and non-pie. They need to be at the event an hour before noon on Saturday the 15th, to be judged prior to the meal.

A call out to all members that can hang around following the gun raffle Sunday afternoon at the close of the event: many hands contribute to a quicker clean-up. Thank you all. — Paul DeBow, Grafton County Director
