PRESIDENT’S REPORT

NJFH members,

I hope your trapping season is going good for you. The cold weather really set us tidal water ’rat trappers back a few weeks. It felt really good when the ice melted and we were finally able to set some traps! I was talking to trappers from the northern part of the state and even they said they are catching beavers, but it isn’t coming easy.

This year the NJFH will have its spring meeting on Sunday, March 21 at Assunpink (same as last year). We will also be having a fur pick up for the NAFA May sale and we will be there by 10 a.m. Please be sure to have your paperwork ready and your trapping license written in the appropriate area. The meeting will start at noon and it will be a very important one. Jay will be stepping down as secretary and Andy Janson will take over the secretary job.

Once again, we can’t thank him enough for all the work he has done, but now its time for other people to step up! I will also be stepping down as president, but I am hoping and I think we have another person to step in. I am willing to take another job on and work hard at what ever I do, but, at this time, I need and the NJFH needs for someone else to step in. The NJFH has plenty of members that can do the job and make the NJFH continue to get better and better in the future! As you can see this will be an important meeting so be sure to attend! We will be sending out newsletters with all the information so be sure to read in case we change the time and it will also have directions.

To save the NJFH money and time and hard work, we are now sending the newsletters through e-mail. If you aren’t receiving the newsletter by e-mail and you are capable, please e-mail Jay asking him to you on the list. His e-mail is jemounier@juno.com.

Have fun trapping and be safe!

— Curt Haberman
