VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Well the season is winding down now. Most fox are so rubbed they are not worth taking, the rats are breeding and fighting so most of us stop setting for them, and coons are rubbed beyond salvage. It is time to put our equipment aside and get ready for the fur sale.

Don’t forget the sale will be March 19 & 20. Remember there was no early sale again this year, so there will be a lot of fur this sale. As always we can only receive fur on Saturday, so we will have arrangements for those who want to drop off their fur rather than wait for Tom to get to their lot. If you can not get there on Saturday but still want to put fur in call me at 973-697-2981. Your check can either be mailed or you can pick it up after the sale. To be honest we would rather mail the checks since it causes less confusion during the sale. But some people prefer to pick the check up.

This year there will be some changes to the Game Code. While most of the changes are in the deer regulations there will be some that affect trappers. We will let you know what they are, and whether we are in favor or opposed to them. But from what I heard most changes are things we can live with. We should have the final changes by May.

That’s enough for now, remember be safe, have fun, and take a kid with you.

— Jim DeStephano

  1. how do you know who the best fox trapper is in nj, and do you post pictures in your magazine. I think I have found an amazing picture from this past year of a man that traps in nj and if you ever seen this picture tells a story, of how nj is not just another built up state, that it is still for the mountain man, and alot of out doors left here.
thank you for any information that you can provide.
