Well this report is being written the day after the fur sale. All I can say is WOW. Prices were right in line with the prices we heard from the Canadian auctions. $50 reds, $20 coons, $13 rats, nice. Most of the sellers were happy with the prices. As usual there were some lots that did not bring what was expected, but that is the nature of an auction. There did not seem to be any major problems, just the usual ones. We had about 96 sellers, and about 6 or 7 good sized buyers. Along with several others who only wanted something special for their own use, not to resell. Those small buyers who only want something for a “project” can always be counted on to stir the pot. I mean really, $163.50 for a coyote? It was beautiful, and those who were bidding did not care. That was great for the seller, and I hope the buyer is able to enjoy the finished product for a long time. A better report on the sale will follow.
