PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Greetings fellow NC trappers. I hope this report finds you doing well and enjoying your trapping season. At the time of this writing, my season has not yet begun and I am working feverishly to get my pre-season tasks completed.

In my last report, I talked about engaging other trappers and trying to grow our membership. Trapping season is the perfect time to do this. If you run into other trappers while running your line, strike up a conversation and learn about them. If you have any younger trappers near you, invite them to come along as you run your traps or work in your fur shed. The bottom line is that we need to grow our membership and strengthen our association. You, our members, are our best chance we have to bring in new people. I’ll get off my soap box now but please just think about it.

I will give a detailed report on the convention in January’s report with contests and fund raising information but I need to make a correction on my last report. I named all of our cookout staff but one. I left out Harold Dorsett. I don’t know how I did this and Harold, you have my sincere apology for the mistake.

I will close for now with best wishes for you all during this trapping season and for you and your families to have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. — Tony White
