VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Hello NCTA trappers, our season will be winding down by the time you read this report. I hope that your trapping season has been a good one. With the coming of spring, we will again turn our attention to the business at hand.

Michael Mann, the lobbyist working for us on the fox issue, will address the board of directors at our March meeting. Hopefully, the news he brings will be good. Until this issue is decided, it will be the main focus of the NCTA. I firmly believe that this will be our best chance at getting a state wide fox season.

I don’t have much else to report on this month, but I would like for everyone to keep Tim Rose in your thoughts and prayers. Tim lives in Creswell, NC, and is the brother of Wayne Rose, our former treasurer. A few weeks ago, Tim was bitten in the face by a Red Wolf while trying to release it from one of his traps. He is recovering fine, but a few extra prayers never hurt anyone.

I’ll wrap this up for now, but please come by and see us if you can at the Dixie Deer Classic, March 4th, 5th, and 6th at the Raleigh Fair grounds.

—Tony White
