SECRETARY’S REPORT
The annual fall meeting was held at the Defiance Fish and Game Club this year. Special thanks go to everyone there for hosting us on the first Saturday of October.
This one-day event was well attended and although the weather did not show its best side to begin with, it produced a nice day. Several dealers came and we had some very good demos and each maintained a crowd after they were over. The general membership meeting was held and conducted by Vice President Jim Sugg. The present fur market was discussed and everyone agreed this is the year to really enjoy yourself and have fun. Try some of those new ideas; see what will work, perhaps better.
New Location: This year we have a large change! The fur auction this year will be held on Jan. 9, 2010, at TONTOGANY AMERICAN LEGION. This Tontogany Road site is only 3 miles away from the fairgrounds where we have held the auction for over 20 years. The reason for moving is the cost of the building, the rent has gone up by half again the earlier amount. We will only have one fur auction this year, due to the lower demand for fur in these hard economic times. This building is not as large as the previous one, but will work just fine. It has a kitchen and is laid out very close to the old building without the large open area.
New call in number: Call in for a lot numbers will start on Monday Jan. 4 after 5 p.m. and the new number to call Craig at is 419-832-1575.
