VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Hello to all Oklahoma Members. This is a tough newsletter to write as it is four days before the first Fur Sale and you won’t get this until after the second sale. I understand the fur prices are low and that we were trapping mostly for experience and population management this year. The unfortunate thing is that we probably won’t even make enough to pay for our gas money to go out and set the traps. Some of us might not even make enough to pay for our gas money to take the furs to the fur sale! Anyway, we are not in it for only the money. My trapping this year opened several new doors to places to hunt that I otherwise wouldn’t get to hunt. We will have a full fur sale report in the next newsletter.
Vivian Scott asked me to put in a note to all members. When she receives your membership money, either in the mail or at the fur sale, she writes out a membership card to you right away. Then she sends in the money to the Trapper & Predator Caller Magazine for your subscription. Sometimes, the Krause Publications (the Magazine company) sends out renewal notices to you and this gets confusing. If you have a current membership card, just ignore the renewal notice. If you don’t have a current card, please contact Vivian because sometimes things get crossed or lost in the mail. She has no control over the renewal notices and it frustrates her and the trappers who oftentimes just renewed their membership. Please accept our apologies, but if you do have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call.
Remember there is no spring meeting this year. We have moved it to our Trappers Workshop and campout at Lake Eufalula the first weekend of June. This will be at the Gentry Creek Campground. Please plan on attending with your family. We will have more info in the next newsletter and you can watch our Web site for more and current information: www.oktrapper.com.
