Passing: Gary Walter Turcotte

GARY WALTER TURCOTTE

The Colorado Trappers Association mourns the passing of one of its members, Gary Walter Turcotte, of Denver, CO.

Gary unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at the age of 54. Gary was born on July 25, 1959, in Williston, ND, to Clarence and Rena Turcotte. He spent his growing up years in Trenton, ND, and graduated with the Trenton High School Class of 1977.

Gary moved to Denver, CO, in 1986 where he owned and operated McCutchen Mfg and was well-known in the fiberglass industry.

Gary was an excellent horseman, and team roped with his father and brothers. He also calf roped in high school competitions. The love of rodeo kept him and his family going to Cheyenne Frontier Days every year. He loved to hunt in the mountains and often told us stories of taking his son, Chase, on a hunt.

Gary’s family was very important to him. He never missed a birthday or anniversary and would make that long-distance call just to make the other person feel special. He loved country music and loved to dance. He was fondly called “Turk” by his friends. He was a faithful companion, daddy, Pappa (to his grandchildren), son, brother, uncle and friend.

Gary is survived by his loving partner of twenty years, Kay Voss; his son Chase; daughters Misty Holdsworth and Jessica Gabaldon; his three grandchildren; his mother Rena Falcon; eight sisters; five brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

Cards may be sent to: Kay Voss-Turcotte, 7761 Osage Street, Denver, CO 80221.
