Raccoons Make Home at Top of 150-Foot Crane

A crane operator in Ballard, Wash., found unexpected visitors when he climbed up to the cab of his 150-foot tower crane earlier this week — two raccoons.

The construction company called an animal damage control business in to trap the daredevil ‘coons, according to a King5.com report. The crane is being used to work on a 304-unit apartment scheduled to open in the summer of 2014.

Apparently, raccoons are a regular sight in the neighborhood. One woman even had a lengthy standoff with a ‘coon in an alley outside of her work.

“It had me cornered in there for about three hours and I was too afraid to come out of there,” she told King5.com.
