VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Greetings fellow trappers!

Just finished our first trappers’ ed class at the Styx Fish Hatcher in Columbia on Saturday, September 29th , 2012. We had a very good turn out. We got a whole generation of trappers started out on the right foot. I would like to thank everyone from the Fish and Game Department and the South Carolina Trappers’ Association that came out; it was a great team effort and everyone, young and old benefited.

This is the result of team spirit, and mutual respect. I encourage y’all to get to learn your local state trapping laws, get to know your local conservation officers; and most important, we must always be conscious of our public image as trappers. Let’s be ethical! It is through educational programs like this one; that the out dated misconception of the trapper’s image will be eliminated.

Don’t forget fellow trappers, we have our annual convention, November 3 2012 at Little Mountain Park, I regret, I won’t be able to make this year’s meeting, as I’ll be long lining out west in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. I hope y’all have a prosperous season. Don’t hesitate to call if you need anything.

Happy trappin’! — Scott Turnbull
