PRESIDENT’S REPORT

I want to let everyone know some very important information. We have had some unexpected event changes occur. Due to unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances our spring convention WILL BE AT WEBSTER, SD on April 10. The convention will be held at the Issac Walton building near Webster, SD.

We have some very interesting demos set up for the convention. We will demos on skull cleaning, muskrat trapping, critter skinning, trap collecting and predator calling. We will also have an update on the river otter situation. It looks to be an interesting and educational line-up. The Izaac Walton building is located along HWY 12 1/4 miles west of the intersection of hwys 12 and 25 on the north side of the road. We will still have the skinning bee on April 11 at Peterson Furs. I look forward to seeing you there.

We have set the date for our fall convention, it will be held in Flandreau, SD at the city park the same location it was last year. The convention will be held on Sept. 17 and 18.

Recently, one of our members, Gary Hagstrom, suffered the misfortune of having his home burn down. His family had no insurance and lost everything including all of their guns. As an association, and in honor of all the wonderful fundraising he and his family have done for the association, we as directors voted to donate $100 to his family. Any donations to him or his family are greatly appreciated.

The association has also agreed to donate a red fox fur to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation in return for an equal donation from them to us. This fox is to be used for a fundraiser for them, and we are certain whatever they donate to us will likely be able to be used as a fundraiser for our association.
