Coyote Hunting Sweepstakes Winner Announced!

Persistence pays. That’s what Edward Bergum, of Bemidji, Minn. found out late last week.

The longtime Trapper & Predator Caller subscriber who “enters every contest (he) can get in on” submitted his name for the magazine’s Predators on the Prairie sweepstakes earlier in the year. When he wasn’t sure if his entry was submitted successfully, he called in to make sure the website was still accepting entries. And then, just to ease his mind, he entered again. This time he received a confirmation e-mail.

On Dec. 1, Bergum’s entry was drawn as the winner of the sweepstakes. He will be going on a hunt in the predator-rich northeast corner of Kansas with T&PC Managing Editor Jared Blohm and Flambeau Outdoors’ Tad Brown, Todd Wilson and Tom Wilson.

“I am very excited,” Bergum said. “I’m really looking forward to this.”

The all-expenses-paid, four-day hunt will
take place from Thursday, Jan. 13 to Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011.

Bergum will have some new predator hunting gear to try out on the trip
as well. He will be receiving a Rock River Arms Predator Assault Rifle,
a Nikon Coyote Special
3-9×40 Scope, Rocky/Mossy Oak camouflage, M.A.D. hand calls, a M.A.D.
electronic call and a Flambeau Lone Howler Decoy.

Bergum, who is an avid predator hunter, calls coyotes and bobcats in western Minnesota and Montana, but said he has wanted to try some new areas.

“I think it’s going to be fun,” Bergum said. “I’ve always wanted to go further out and predator hunt.”

Watch here and in the magazine for stories on Bergum’s hunt.

And thank you to everyone who entered!
