REPORT
Another trapping season is ending and I hope your season went well. The mild temperatures made for a good predator season but the rain kept most of the creeks and rivers running high.
Recently, the association had their first fur sale at Waverly. What a difference a year makes in the fur market! Everyone I have talked to seemed to be pleased with the prices paid for their fur. Everyone with a pile of raccoons were very happy that the price was higher than last year.
I would like to thank everyone who came and helped to make the sale such a success: the buyers, the sellers, the supply dealers, and the officers of the association, Chris Jacobsen, Jackie McMurtry, Jeremy McCormick and Jerry Scott. In addition, I also want to say a big THANK YOU to Rhonda Scott and Samantha McCormick for their help in the kitchen and the association table.
Chris Jacobsen will soon be organizing a spring meet. Please try to attend our meets. This is your association and your participation is needed. The outlook for the fur market looks better than it has been in quite some time, so be prepared for next year.
Until the next report. — Mark Griffith
