I hope everyone had a safe and good season. We will have results from the fur sales and the Rocky Top award winners in the next issue. From the results of the NAFA sale in February, fur prices are doing well and everyone should have done well.
Our Spring events are coming up and I hope to see you there. Our spring meet is in May at Big Ridge again this year on May 24th and 25th. Exact dates and more information will be in the news flyer as well as on the website when it becomes available. Also our Trapper training class at Hiwassee wildlife refuge is just around the corner. You can contact John for more information.
This is Election year for President and Vice President positions. Both positions must be changed out this year due to by law limits to two terms. We have a great organization and I’m sure we can keep it going with new officers. We will discuss the election as well as the process of nominations at the spring meet at Big Ridge. All Officers and Directors are urged to attend so we can get everyone’s input on the Election as well as ideas on future events like Falls Creek and Fur Sales. We will also discuss the results, pros and cons from this years fur sales. More information on agenda discussions will be listed in the Spring Flyer.
Our website is doing well and thanks goes out to Stan and Wendell for doing most of the upkeep now. There are over 400 members and the information forum is great for beginners and experienced trappers alike. It takes all our help to keep it informative and helpful as well as tasteful in the way of pictures, ethical and legal trapping methods. Please be mindful of what is posted. For those interested in checking out the web site or joining in, the address is tfhaonline.net.
If anyone has any questions I can be reached on the web site, email@example.com, or at 731 614-2531. Thanks and I hope to see you somewhere this year. — James Lord
