PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Hello everyone,

I hope you all have had a great summer and you should soon be receiving your Fall mail out newsletter. Inside you will have information about Fall Creek Falls, Fur sales, which was discussed at Gee Creek; and your ballot for the upcoming election. The NTA has passed and I didn’t make it due to work, but I hope you had the chance to get up to Lima as I’m betting it was a great turnout. I’m sure John will fill you in with his report on how the Convention went as well as all the NTA news about the upcoming election for the NTA President nominees (Chris McAllister and John Daniel), NTA General Organizer (Dave Shuttleworth and Charlie Rath).

On the local level, our Election Nominees are set for the TFHA officials positions. Nominated for President is Stan Meyers and John Daniel; the Vice President nominees are Clarence Dies and Wilber Brady, and State Organizer nominees are Greg Webb and Wendell Reeves. I’d like to say good luck to all the nominees and thank you for accepting the nomination to help keep our Association moving forward.

I hope to see a lot of you in October at Fall Creek Falls, I believe Wendell and the Lady Fur Harvesters have some great things lined up. Keep watching the web site as well to get up dates on events and so forth at www.tfhaonline.com Thanks for everyone’s hard work and dedication to make TFHA successful. If you need to contact me, you can reach me at 731 614-2531 or email at jlord2003@aol.com.

Thanks and see ya soon. — James Lord

VICE PRESIDENT/NTA DIRECTOR REPORT

Hope this report finds everyone doing well. At the time of this writing, I am on my way to Lima, Ohio for the NTA National Convention and our District 5 meeting is only 2 weeks away.

I will give a report of the NTA Board Meeting in the next issue. By the time you read this report you should already have or very shortly will have our fall newsletter accompanied with an election ballot for all eligible voting members. You can mail your ballots to James Lord or bring them to the fall convention at Fall Creek Falls and put them in the ballot box.

In June, I ran across a 20-foot box trailer for sale. After notifying James and a few other members, Greg Webb and I went and looked at it together. A few weeks of negotiations later, TFHA now owns a Hall of Fame Trailer. Thank you to everyone that donated money to the trailer fund. The trailer needs some work, but it should be ready for our fall convention.

I look forward to seeing it filled with memorabilia in tribute to our Hall of Fame members.

Remember our fall convention will be one day longer this year, beginning on Thursday, so make plans now to attend. Plans are in the making for a craw-fish boil and live band for Saturday night. This year’s fall convention promises to be a very special event. Hope to see everybody there.

Til next time, keep your boots dry. — John
