USA Today Runs Article on Nutria

An article about the spread of nutria ran today in the USA Today. It was entitled, “Rat-like nutria gnaw away at states’ wetlands.” It was written by Rick Jervis.

The article focuses on the nutria outbreak in Louisiana, where the foreign species was originally imported, and Jervis hits on the state bounty program that pays $5 per nutria tail to trappers. The program has helped slow the spread of nutria, but they remain a large problem for the state.
