PRESIDENT’S REPORT

It’s that time of year again for our convention. We are very excited to have it. We have many fun things planned this year. To start off, the convention will be September 9th & 10th, 2011. It will be held at the fairgrounds in Nephi, Utah. Everyone is welcome to come. Nephi is a really nice town there are several hotels to stay at; some of them include the Safari Motel, and Best Western. If you would like to camp out there are spots at the fairgrounds as well.

Friday, September 9th we will be having our Annual Hamburger Social. This is a great event for all of the trappers to come together, catch up and make fun memories. Dinner will start at 6:00 pm. We will be serving hamburgers, now keep in mind that the UTA officers will be cooking dinner. This may be a once in a life time event to see them wearing an apron let alone cooking so make sure you stop by to check it out. We will also be having some musical entertainment as well as a Tall Tale contest.

Saturday is the big day. We will be having many events going on. To start off this year we will be having a fur harvester class taught for those who would like to take the course. We also have some good vendors as well as demos in line. There will also be contests for the kids and some activities for the ladies. Don’t forget about our banquet dinner and live auction that evening. This is a hoot! If you have anything that you would like to have auctioned off feel free to bring it. For additional information you can contact any of the UTA officers.

We do have one change this year that we would like everyone to be aware of. Our annual raffle is usually drawn on Sunday afternoon. This year we will be doing the raffle Saturday night during the banquet dinner. This will be good change that we are excited for. If anyone needs any additional raffle tickets please contact a UTA officer. We will have raffle tickets to sell at the convention as well.

As officers we have been able to attend the RAC meetings. Things are making progress. At the convention we will have a full report on what has been going on. We would like to thank everyone for their support and help. We look forward to seeing you at the convention!
