Video: Bobcat Breaks Into Washington Prison

Officials at the Monroe Correctional Complex in Monroe, Wash., had to deal with an unexpected intruder Tuesday morning. A bobcat scaled the razor-wire-topped perimeter fence last night and made it onto the roof of the prison.

The ‘cat was originally spotted at the Monroe Correctional Complex perimeter fence Monday night, according to a Seattle Post-Intelligencer story. By early Tuesday, the bobcat had made it through the razor-wire that topped the fence and onto the roof of the prison’s Special Offender Unit.

A veterinarian sedated the bobcat with a tranquilizer gun Tuesday morning. The ‘cat is now being treated for injuries to a paw and its hind quarters at a local veterinary hospital. It is expected to recover and be released back into the wild.
