A pine marten recently ran onto the field during a Swiss soccer match and eluded capture for several minutes. Eventually, one of the players, Zurich defender Loris Benito, was able to grab the animal, but it bit him.
In the end, everyone was OK, and the video is pretty entertaining:
I just watched the video of the marten on the soccer field. The article refers to it as a “pine” marten, but I think it looks more like a Stone Marten. Wisconsin is suppose to have a small population of Stone Martens in the SW part of the state.
