I would like to thank everyone that voted for me in the election. I look forward to serving as your President another term. I also look forward to working with all other board members. I am lucky to have such a good group to work with. Winston Marshall’s term will be over the end of 2011, I would like to thank him for doing such a good job as treasurer.

We would like to hear from the membership on ideas for our upcoming raffle and also anything else you guys would like to see the VTA work on.

When you read this report we will be a couple weeks into trapping season and I wish everyone lots of luck and look forward to seeing everyone’s catch at the upcoming fur sale. Feel free to call anytime 434-996-6067. — Steve Colvin

MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY’S REPORT

Fellow VTA Members, Well, we had a big surprise on October 28th…..a big heavy snowfall….it was my wife’s, Diana’s, birthday and she said she can never remember having snow on her birthday……It sure was a surprise and broke limbs out of the trees around here. Even though we only had 165 VTA members vote in our recent election, I would like to say congratulations to the newly elected board. One of which, is Diana, who will work hard at taking care of the membership duties, as she has for me during the last two years. I did a little bowhunting the first week of October, but even though I saw deer, I did not bag one. Seems in Highland County the deer had plenty of apples, but not many acorns for feeding on. Here in Staunton there were plenty of acorns. Trapping season is coming up, and I hope to do better with that. Our VTA membership now totals 553. Not bad for our current economy the way it is. We have been sending out reminder letters to those members who do not get the T&PC and do not get a renewal notice. Hope this helps them and our membership. When you do get your renewal notice from the T&PC, make sure you send us the entire page with your check, and please send it as soon as possible, as it takes at least 2 months for the processing from our house to the VTA Treasurer and then to the T&PC to get your magazines renewed. Hope everyone has a great trapping season, and a Great Thanksgiving. We have alot to be thankful for. Your VTA Membership Secretary. — Dickie Craig
