PRESIDENT’S REPORT

For those of you that don’t know, we lost a great member. Peter McFadden passed away. Pete was a true trapper who loved to share his knowledge with others and he was a super guy. The VTA sent flowers to his funeral, and also had Ed Crebbs and John Adams to represent the VTA. Pete will be missed by many. Please keep he and his family in your prayers, they were aware of his health problems, but this was unexpected.

Jeffry Hart has stepped up to be Dist. 4 Director. He was a director before and is excited about doing it again. I look forward to working with Jeffry in the future. Thanks for stepping up Jeffry. Districts 2 and 9 are still vacant so anyone interested please contact me or any board member.

The VTA has been busy with events. I want to thank Dist. 1 for holding a successful Basic Trapper training course. Keep up the good work guys. I also want to thank Norman Pierce and Tommy Lucy for attending an event at State College and also doing an event with Ward Burton in Halifax. Great job guys and thanks for all you do. Blache Conley also attended the Dog mart festival in Dist. 8 and did a great job doing so. Thank you Blanche. Ed and Charliene Crebbs, Frances Richards and Larry Klien also attended the Hartwood Festival in Fredricksburg and also did a great job representing the VTA. Thanks to all of you for your hard work.

That’s all for now. — Steve Colvin, 434-996-6067

MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY’S REPORT

Hello VTA members! Welcome fall! I love this cooler weather. Our VTA membership now totals 509. Up a little. I just finished sending an order for renewals to the T&PC with 42 lifetime members on it whose mag expires in December. I hope I have covered all life members for this year with your renewal of T&PC plus sending you new VTA membership cards. If you are a life member with publication (or any member with publication) and you start missing any issues of the T&PC, please let me know. There should not be an interruption of your issues, unless you let it expire or did not send your renewal notice to me on time. Remember that when you send in your renewal notice, it then takes two months to process. Orders are only sent once per month to the T&PC. Thanks to Jeffry Hart for volunteering to be our VTA District 4 director. Welcome to the VTA board. Please let us know on this end of District 4 if we can help in any way. Everyone be safe.

Your VTA membership secretary. — Diana Craig
