PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Well, I missed last month and still not a lot to report. I guess the time of the year a lot going on hunting and trapping, but not much association wise.

The one thing to report is that we have scheduled the winter fur sale for Feb. 20 at Fort Borst Park in Centralia. We’ve been there for a few years now so most are probably familiar with it. For those not, Ralph will be sending out a flyer closer to the sale. We have rented out both buildings this year so we won’t be quite so crowded and hopefully that will be better for the buyers. I hope to do a few fur handling demos. Not sure what it will be, but I was thinking about bobcat and maybe raccoon. Let me know if there is something you’re wanting to see. I want to thank Steve Brownell for making the arrangements for us.

Legislatively, George has done a bit of preliminary work, but really not much happening until the Legislature comes into session in January.

With all that slack time, I’m headed for Oregon for a few weeks of trapping. Be back by the time you read this. Fur prices look abysmal, but I guess there’s the enjoyment factor and hopefully that will even things out.
