DISTRICT 8 REPORT

Attendance jumped to six this month for our election meeting. Still plenty of room for additional trappers — come on in next month. Results of the election were Roger Ringgold as Director and Donald Moore as Assistant Director.

Discussions centered on National Hunting and Fishing Day, Jr. Trapper Day, the MFT Board Meeting conference call, fur buyers, new editors for the T&PC and American Trapper, the Eastern Shore bear and the NTA. We passed around the picture of the 51-pound coon in the Nov. T&PC.  The NTA cash calendars were offered. The second year for trappers education classes was also discussed.

Each trapper was given the floor to explain their trapping hopes and intentions for the season. Some plan on being active and some not. Fur prices do not seem attractive, but the thrill of being out there still looms big.

District 8 encourages visitors at our meetings. Come give us a try. We have a generous bull session along with the normal meeting. You will fit in.

District 8 meets the fourth Tuesday of each month during trapping season at 7 p.m. at the home of Robert Calloway. The address is 14313 Cherry Lane, near Tuckahoe State Park, between Ridgely and Centreville. Call Bob at 410-634-2501 for further directions.
