SECRETARY AND NTA DIRECTOR’S REPORT
This month’s report will be short simply because the deadline coincides with publication of the fall issue of the Tracker. I want to remind all who harvest fur, in and around New Mexico, to consider selling at least part of your catch at our annual fur sale in Belen March 6 and 7. Our sales commissions are small, we have good buyers present (remember last year’s record prices?) and the fur handling demos are invaluable. This year, we are planning on having more opportunities for “hands-on” fleshing, so save a pelt and we’ll help you work it up.
In closing, don’t forget that you can make your life a lot easier simply by going to the NMDG&F Web site (http://www.wildlife.state.nm.us/recreation/hunting/harvest/pelt_tag.pdf), typing in all your personal information and pre-printing the bobcat tagging forms. After a catch, add the particulars; “whalaa” no paper work when selling. — Tom McDowell
